Letzter Kindergartentag - Last School Day

Das Schuljahr 2009 neigt sich dem Ende zu. 8 Wochen Sommerferien, sowohl fuer Schulen als auch fuer Kindergaerten, stehen in Costa Rica bevor und aus diesem Grund hat Noahs Arc alle zu einer Abschlussfeier eingeladen.

The school year 2009 is coming to an end. 8 weeks of summer vacation for all kindergartens and schools in Costa Rica are about to start and therefore, Noahs Arc has invited kids and parents for a final celebration.

Waehrend alle gespannt auf ihren Einsatz warteten, wollte Enrique von alldem gar nichts wissen. Er klammerte sich an Mama fest und vergoss einige Traenen, einerseits weil er gesundheitlich nicht auf der Hoehe war, andererseits weil er es nicht mag im Mittelpunkt der Aufmerksamkeit zu stehen.

While everybody was getting excited about the start of the performance, Enrique was not interested in this at all. He was grabbing Moms leg and cried crocodile tears. On the one hand, because he was not feeling well, and on the other hand, because he does not like to be the center of attention.

Als zum Schluss der Darbietung die Luftballons ausgeteilt wurden, taute er dann endlich ein wenig auf.

At the end of the show, when every child received a balloon, he finally loosened up a bit.

... beim Schaukeln und Rutschen oder bei der Gesichtsbemalung, Enrique konnte sich jedoch fuer nichts begeistern.

Selbst das Essen, an dem Enrique immer Freude hat und welches die Eltern mitbrachten, wollte an diesem Tag nicht schmecken.

Even the food, which the parents made and where Enrique usually cannot get enough, did not find the way into his mouth.

Erst als die Pinata zum Vorschein kam, konnte man ein Laecheln auf Enrique's Gesicht verzeichnen.

The only smile that was crossing Enrique's face that day was when the pinata showed up.

Zum Schluss klopfte noch ein ganz unerwarteter Gast an die Tuer. Der Weihnachtsmann war gekommen und teilte kleine Geschenke aus. Nicht das Enrique Angst vor ihm gehabt haette und deshalb schon wieder zu Traenen geruehrt war, nein es war die Tatsache, dass er an 2. Stelle stand, um sein Geschenk in Empfang zu nehmen und von den Kindern verdraengt wurde.

At the end, an unexpected guest stopped by at Noahs Arc. Santa Claus came and gave little presents to the kids. Enrique was not crying because he was scared of him, but because he was supposed to be the 2nd child sitting on his lap for a picture and receiving some chocolate. Unfortunately, other kids were pushing him from left to right and with him not feeling well, he forgot to fight back and started to cry.
