In January, it was very cold outside, but the snow was missing and therefore Enrique had to entertain himself most of the time at home. Whether during an afternoon playdate with Anton ...

... alles drehte sich um das Thema "Star Wars".

Und dann war da noch Opa's Geburtstag, zu dem eine Riesenpute serviert wurde.

(Ein guter Bekannter macht es sich jaehrlich zur Aufgabe ein Weihnachtsessen fuer unsere Familie zu zuechten. Aber das konstante Fuettern jeglich verfuegbarer Nahrungsmittel laesst den Weihnachtsschmaus immer wieder aufs Neue zu einem "regelrechten Monster" heranwachsen, welches eine 5koepfige Familie allein nicht bewaeltigen kann.)

 

And then, there was the birthday of Enrique's grandfather where we HAD to eat a huge turkey hen!

(One of our relatives specialty is it to breed "Xmas meals" for our family. But throughout the year, they are fed constantly with soooo many things that they keep growing into "monsters" which a family of 5 can not handle by themselves.)

An diesem Tag kuemmerte sich Enrique um die Toiletten. Irgendwie waren die Tuerschluessel weggekommen und deshalb musste alternativ eine Loesung her, wie man darauf hinweisen koenne, wenn das Klo besetzt war.

 

That day, Enrique took care of the toilets. For some reason, all the keys to lock the bathroom doors were gone missing and therefore, he came up with an alternative solution how to advice people if the bathroom was occupied or not.

Enrique geht seit ca. 5 Monaten in die 1. Klasse, aber das typische Schulanfaengerfoto - ein Kind mit Zahnluecke - konnte bei ihm nicht geschossen werden.

 

For 5 months, Enrique has already been going to school, but the typical sign for a first grader can not been seen until today. Enrique still has not lost a single tooth!

 

Nun steuert er auf seinen 7. Geburtstag zu und nach wie vor gibt es keinen lockeren bzw. neuen Zahn.

 

Soon, he will be turning 7 and not even his first molar has broken through yet.

 

 

Aus diesem Grund empfahl der Chef von Enrique's Mama, seine Zaehne roentgen zu lassen. Positiv zu erwaehnen ist, dass gluecklicherweise alle 28 Zaehne angelegt sind, aber jene sind teilweise doppelt so gross wie die darueberliegenden Milchzaehne. Aufgrund des Platzmangels war damit die Wahrscheinlichkeit sehr hoch, dass die neuen Zaehne hinter oder vor den Milchzaehnen rauskommen wuerden.

 

So, the boss of Enrique's Mom recommended to get an x-ray done. The positive part was that all 28 adult teeth are developing below the gums, but unfortunately they are so big (some of them are double the size of their baby tooth ancestor) that given the current situation there is a big chance of them breaking through behind or in front of the existent baby tooth.

 

Somit erhielt Enrique seine ersten 2 Zahnspangen, welche ueber das woechentliche Drehen einer eingebauten Schraube zur Kieferdehnung und Lueckenbildung verhelfen sollten.

 

Therefore, Enrique received his first 2 dental appliances. Both of them contained a screw which had to be turned once a week in order to expand the jaw and develop spaces between the teeth, so that the adult teeth eventually can break through in the right position.

 

Nun hiess es: tragen, tragen, tragen!

 

Now, it was all about using them!
