Silvester - New Year's Eve

Enrique und seine Mutti verabschieden das alte Jahr 2012 mit vielen positiven Erinnerungen, aber auch einigen schmerzhaften Erfahrungen. Mit deutschen Freunden feiern sie auf der Bruehlschen Terrasse in Dresden den Beginn von 2013 und hoffen, dass die naechsten 12 Monate viele positive Ueberraschungen bereit halten.

 

 

With many good memories and some painful experiences, Enrique and his Mom said goodbye to the year 2012. Surrounded by german friends, they celebrated the start of 2013 on the "Bruehl'sche Terrace" in Dresden hoping that the following 12 months will have many surprises in store for them.

 

Weihnachten - Christmas

Fuer Enrique war es das erste Weihnachtsfest ...

 

For Enrique, it was the first Christmas ...

... im Kreise des deutschen Teils seiner Familie.

 

... that he celebrated surrounded by his Mom's Family from Germany.

 

 

Und nach deutschem Brauch gehoert da ein Weihnachtsmann dazu, ...

 

Traditionally, Santa Claus came to their house and ...

 

... dem man Lieder vorsingt oder Gedichte aufsagt, um seine Geschenke zu erhalten.

 

... gave presents to those kids who were able to sing a song or recite a poem.

 

 

Die kleinsten Familienmitglieder konnte der Weihnachtsmann noch von seiner Existenz ueberzeugen, ...

 

While the little ones were amazed by the existence of Santa Claus, ...

... die groesseren waren sich sicher, dass Onkel Ronny hinter der Verkleidung steckte. Doch noch reichte die Ueberzeugungskraft von Mutti ihm diesen "Unsinn" auszureden.

 

... the older ones believed that Uncle Ronny was just wearing a costume. But this year, Mom was still capable of convincing Enrique that this was nonsense.

 

Mit Geschenken ueberhaeuft, ...

 

Overflooded with presents ...

 

... ging es dann ans Auspacken. Mehrere Pakete beinhalteten Playmobil und Lego Star Wars.

 

... it was time to open the packages that in Enrique's case mostly consisted of Playmobil and Lego Star Wars.

 

Das bedeutete, dass anschliessend alle mit anpacken mussten, um Polizeistation und Raumschiffe aufzubauen.

 

Due to this, everybody had to contribute to assemble Police Station and Spaceships.

 

 

Nach getaner Arbeit liessen Enrique und seine Familie den Abend mit Spielen ausklingen.

 

After all the work had been done, the whole family finished Christmas Eve by playing games together.

"Bumm, Bumm Ballon" war der Hoehepunkt des Tages.

 

"Boom, Boom Balloon" was the highlight of the evening.

 

 

Vorweihnachtszeit - Pre-Christmas Time

 Mit dem 1. Advent wurde die vorweihnachtliche Zeit eingelaeutet und ...

 

Christmas time started with the 1st Advent and therefore ...

 

 

... da durfte natuerlich auch nicht die typisch deutsche Dekoration fehlen, die mit Enrique rund um die Welt gereist war und nun in seinem Kinderzimmer in Radeberg  Platz fand.

 

... Enrique began to unpack the typical German Christmas decoration that had been travelling with him around the world and was ready to be placed into his new room in Radeberg.

 

          











Um den Countdown bis zum Weihnachtsfest uebersichtlicher zu gestalten, erhielt Enrique, wie jedes Jahr, einen Adventskalender. Nun durfte er vom 01. Dezember an jeden Tag ein Tuerchen oeffnen. Dahinter versteckte sich allerdings keine Schokolade sondern kleine Spiele, Schluesselanhaenger, Puzzle u. v. a.

In order to define the amount of days until Christmas Eve, Enrique received an Advent calendar like every year. From the 1st of December onwards, he was allowed to open one door per day. But inside, it was not the typical chocolate instead he found little games, key chains, puzzles and so on.

Am Abend des 5. Dezembers wurden die Schuhe geputzt, damit der Vorbote des Weihnachtsmanns die Moeglichkeit hatte bei artigen Kindern kleine Geschenke zu hinterlassen.

 

On the evening of the 5th of December, he cleaned his shoes in order for Nikolaus to come and leave some presents as little Pre-Xmas gifts.

  

 









Leider koennen Kinderwuensche nicht immer in Erfuellung gehen und deshalb kullerten erst einmal Krokodilstraenen, als Enrique das gewuenschte grosse Star Wars Raumschiff nicht vorfand. Vor lauter Enttaeuschung realisierte er erst viel spaeter, dass das Lego Star Wars Buch Legoteile zur Konstruktion verschiedener kleiner Raumschiffe enthielt. Damit entdeckte er seine Leidenschaft auch selbst Dinge zu kreieren.

Unfortunately, not every wish can become true. Big tears were rolling down Enrique's cheeks, cause he could not find the big Star Wars Spaceship that he had been asking for. Due to this disappointment, he did not even pay attention to any of the things that he received. Later, he realized that the Star Wars book was not just a book. It included many pieces of Lego that could be used to create many different small Spaceships. This book developed Enrique's passion about creating things with Lego by himself.

 

Um sicher zu stellen, dass der Weihnachtsmann seine Wuensche am Heiligabend erfuelle, hinterliess Enrique dem Nikolaus einen Wunschzettel.

 

In order for Santa Claus to fulfill his wishes on Christmas, Enrique left a wish list that Nikolaus with him.

 

 

 

 

 Am 2. Advent fand in Frauenstein der jaehrliche Weihnachtsmarkt statt. Neben vielerlei Leckereien gab es bei der Baeckerei Schmieder die Moeglichkeit ein Pfefferkuchenhaus zu bauen. Beim Kleben half Thomas (Enrique's Onkel) den Kleinen, ...

 

On the 2nd Advent, the yearly Christmas Market took place in Frauenstein. Besides all the delicious goodies that were sold, the bakery Schmieder gave children the possibility to create their own gingerbread house. Thomas (Enrique's uncle) supported the little ones constructing the houses, ...

 

... das Dekorieren uebernahmen die Kinder selbst.

... but the decoration was up to them.
