Fuer einen Kurzurlaub bei Freunden kombiniert mit einem Gefallen, naemlich deren Sohn Noah von den Grosseltern aus Deutschland mitzubringen, reisten Enrique und seine Mama vom 19. bis 24. Oktober nach Chesham in England (ca. 1 Stunde nordwestlich von London gelegen).
A combination of visiting friends and doing them a favor by bringing home their little boy from a vacation at his grandparents in Germany, took us from the 19th until the 24th of October on a short trip to Chesham in England (approximately 1 hour northwest of London)..
Am Leipziger Flughafen, wo Noah erstmalig auf Enrique traf, begann der Trip am fruehen Samstagabend und endete erst spaet nach Mitternacht im k.o., als wir unser Ziel erreicht hatten.
At the airport in Leipzig, where the journey started on an early Saturday evening, Noah met Enrique for the first time. After playing, flying and driving, we finally arrived at our destination way after midnight.
Erschoepft von der lange Reise standen alle Schlafmuetzen erst gegen 10Uhr am Sonntagmorgen auf und genossen gemeinsam ein gemuetliches Fruehstueck.
Exhausted from the trip, everybody slept until 10am on Sunday morning. Then, we finally got up and enjoyed breakfast with Mom's friend Ines and her family.

Im Ausgleich dazu ging es am naechsten Tag mit den Jungs ins Legoland.
So, the following day was all about the kids and therefore we went to Legoland.
Der Hoehepunkt fuer Enrique war der "Star Wars" - Bereich.
The highlight was by far the "Star Wars" section.
Leider machten wir den Fehler und gingen dort zuerst hin. Nun wurde der Tag wieder und wieder mit Fragen wie "Kaufen wir dort zum Schluss noch etwas Kleines?" oder "Mama, wenn sind wir endlich fertig und gehen zu Star Wars zurueck?" begleitet.
Unfortunately, we made the mistake and went there first. This meant that especially Enrique's Mom now had to deal with the same questions throughout the whole day: "Mom, do we buy a small box of Lego at the end?" or "Mom, when are we done and go back to the Star Wars house?".
Doch da gab es ja auch noch so viele verschiedene Fahrgeschaefte. Waehrend Noah, der kleinste von allen, dabei sehr viel Spass hatte, ...
But first, it was time to try all the different rides. While Noah, the youngest one, seemed to have a lot of fun, ...
... war es den beiden aelteren eher mulmig zumute und es stellte sich nach kurzer Zeit heraus, dass sie dann doch die Ausstellungen und Moeglichkeiten, wie Kuerbisse von Halloween aus Lego bauen zu koennen, bevorzugten.
... Flyn and Enrique did not seem to enjoy them at all. So, after a short amount of time, it became obvious that they rather looked at the Lego exhibitions and created Lego figures like the Halloween related pumpkins.
Zum Mittag blieb uns nichts anderes uebrig als einen Hot Dog zu kaufen.
For lunch, we had no choice other than to buy a hot dog.
Und waehrend Enrique im Legoland typische Sehenswuerdigkeiten wie das London Eye & den Big Ben nur in Miniaturformat sehen konnte, ...

Das Wetter in London war am Morgen des ersten Tages sehr wechselhaft, aber zum Glueck gab es ja diese roten Doppeldeckerbuse, in denen man auf Entdeckungsreise gehen konnte. Und was es da alles zu sehen gab: Polizisten, die einen Dieb in Handschellen abfuehrten oder Polizisten, die auf Pferden, fuer Sicherheit in der Stadt sorgten.
During the first morning in London, the weather was unsettled. Fortunately, there were many red buses available for a discovery journey through the city. And the things that Enrique could see where incredible: policemen handcuffing a thief or other policemen on horses keeping the city safe.
Doch die meisten Sehenswuerdigkeiten erkundeten wir zu Fuss.
However, the sightseeing itself, was mostly done by foot.
Schon im Vorfeld hatte Oma darauf hingewiesen, dass hier ja gluecklicherweise an jeder Kreuzung darauf aufmerksam gemacht wird, dass man vor der Ueberquerung in die richtige Richtung
schaut.
In advance, Enrique's grandmother had already informed him to pay attention to the traffic and to look in the right direction before crossing the streets. Fortunately, most crossroads provided a written advice.
Beim London Eye angekommen, liess es Mama sich nicht nehmen eine Rundfahrt zu kaufen.
Once, we arrived at the London Eye, Mom decided to buy tickest for a ride.
Enrique brauchte einige Zeit, um sich darueber klar zu werden, ob er diese Idee toll fand.
It took Enrique quite a while to decide, if he liked the idea or not, ...
Aber der Ausblick ueberzeugte ihn schliesslich davon, dass ...

... dieses Erlebnis trotz der Hoehe unvergesslich war.
... regardless of the height, it was an unforgettable experience.
Und die Geschaefte in dieser Stadt waren auch ziemlich beeindruckend.
And the shops in this city were also pretty cool.
Fuer den zweiten Tag hatte Enrique's Mama viele Verabredungen mit frueheren Arbeitskolleginnen sowie ihrem ehemaligen Chef. Enrique machte drei Kreuze als der Vormittag des geduldigen Stillsitzens endlich vorueber war. Zur Belohnung durfte er sich anschliessend im Regents Park auf dem Spielplatz austoben.
For the second day, Enrique's Mom had set up quite a few get-togethers with former co-workers as well as her boss that she used to work for while living in London. Enrique was extremely relieved when the morning of sitting patiently in different cafes listening to the same stories all over again had passed. As a little reward, we spent some time in Regents park on a playground.
