Boottrip - Boat Trip

Juan's Hotelabteilung hat sich zum Jahresabschluss ueberlegt, einen Bootsausflug zu machen, bei dem fuers Mittagessen Fische gefangen werden sollen. Ausgeruestet mit Schwimmweste und Plaetzschen fuer den kleinen Hunger zwischendurch, machen wir uns 8 Uhr in der Frueh auf den Weg.

Juan's department in the hotel has decided to go on a boat trip for the end of the year celebration. During this adventure, catching fishes for lunch was the plan. Wearing a life vest and carrying cookies for snack time, we hit the road at 8am.

Mit Mama und Papa an Bord kann nichts mehr schief gehen.

On board, Mom and Dad take care of Enrique.

Leider ist es an diesem Tag sehr bewoelkt, was den Boottrip an sich angenehmer macht, doch wodurch auch die Fische wegbleiben, denn wie jeder gute Fischer weiss, ist es besser, wenn die Sonne aufs Wasser knallt und damit die Wurmattrape an der Angelschnur reflektiert wird. Dann beissen die Fische besser zu. Dafuer konnten wir andere Tiere aus naechster Naehe betrachten, wie z.B. die Riesenschildkroeten.

Unfortunately, it is very cloudy, which makes the boat trip much more comfortable, but it also keeps the fishes away. A sunny day is much better for fishing, as the worm dummy on the fishing line gets reflected by the sun and therefore the fishes make more attempts to get it. But we were lucky with other water animals, like giant water turtles.

Doch woher kam denn nun der Fisch??? Dieser wurde von einem anderem Fischerboot im Tausch fuer Bier und Chips eingekauft.

So, where did the fish for our lunch come from? In exchange for beer and chips, it was obtained from another fisher boat.

... mussten nun die Maenner ran, um eine Feuerstelle zu bauen.

... the men had to build a fire pit.

Es vergingen ein paar Minuten bis das Feuer brannte.

It took a few minutes until the fire started to burn.

Diese Zeit wurde genutzt, um den Fisch zu zerlegen.

This time was necessary to disembowel the fish.

Kritisch beaeugt Enrique das Essen auf dem Grill.

Enrique is checking out the food with a critical eye.

Ob ihm das Ausnehmen und der Anblick des Fisches oder die tropischen Temperaturen den Appetit verdarben, wissen wir nicht. Eine grosse Rolle wird sicherlich auch der Konsum von Soda gespielt haben. Enrique drinkt daheim nur Wasser und Saefte, die in der Getraenkauswahl jedoch fehlten und deshalb schuettete er sich an diesem Tag regelrecht mit dem suessen Zeug zu. Unser Bueffet konnte sich auf jeden Fall sehen lassen.

We do not know, if the preparation and the sight of the fish or the tropical temperatures had spoiled Enrique's appetite, as he did not want to eat anything. The consumption of soda probably also played a decisive roll. At home, Enrique only drinks water and juice, but whoever bought the drinks, forgot to get those kind of beverages. Due to this, Enrique filled himself up with Fanta and refused to try things from our delicious buffet.

Until it was time to head back, Enrique kept himself busy with sport activities in the water and ...
