Krebslauf - Cancer Run

Jedes Jahr zur Weihnachtszeit organisiert das Four Seasons Hotel einen 6km Lauf, dessen Einnahmen der Krebsforschung zugute kommen.

Every year, the Four Seasons Hotel organizes a 6km run. The money that the participating people have to pay, goes to the benefit of cancer research.

Enrique hat sich den besten Platz ausgesucht. Lust zum Rennen hat er nur fuer 5 Meter.

Enrique is only able to participate for 5 minutes, than he sits in the stroller and enjoys the ride.

Im Ziel angekommen, sind Mama und Papa ganz schoen geschafft, denn ohne Training hatten sie sich auf die Strecke gemacht.

After reaching the finish line, Mom and Dad, who had not practiced for this race nor jog on a regular basis, were pretty tired.

Das Rennen fand auf der Papagayo Halbinsel, dem Zuhause des Four Seasons, statt. Bereits 9Uhr morgens war alles vorbei und somit entschloss sich Familie Fernandez die Tennisplaetze des Hotels anschliessend unsicher zu machen.

The Cancer fund raising run took place on the Peninsula Papagayo, the home of the Four Seasons. Since the race was finished by 9am, Family Fernandez decided to hit some balls on the tenniscourt afterwards.

Zum Glueck wurde dort fuer reichlich Abkuehlung gesorgt, denn die Sonne schien an diesem Tag mit voller Wucht.

Gladly, they had everything prepared to keep cool, as the sun was burning hot that day.

Ausserdem stellte Enrique auf dem Tennisplatz sein fotografisches Talent unter Beweis.

On the tenniscourt, Enrique also proved that he is a good photographer.

Daheim angekommen wartete noch eine grosse Ueberraschung auf uns. Waehrend Enrique seinen Mittagsschlaf auf der Rueckfahrt im Auto erledigte, hatten Mama und Papa das Beduerfnis sich zu Hause kurz aufs Ohr zu legen. Natuerlich nach einander. Waehrend Papa schlief und Enrique einen Film schaute, fielen Mama fuer 5 Minuten die Augen zu und als sie aufwachte, sass Enrique nicht mehr neben ihr. Es war ruhig in der Wohnung. Kein gutes Zeichen. Enrique befand sich im Buero und hatte sich, laut eigener Aussage, zum Supermann verwandelt.

After an early sport morning, we headed back to the apartment, where a big surprise waited for us. While Enrique was taking his nap in the car during the 45min trip, Mom and Dad had the desire to dose down. Of course, they were not able to do it at the same time, somebody had to watch Enrique. While Dad slept and Enrique watched a movie, Mom closed her eyes for 5 minutes and by the time she opened them again, Enrique was not sitting beside her anymore. It was quiet in the appartment - not a good sign. Finally, Mom discovered Enrique, who had converted into Superman (according to his statement) in the office.

It took 45 minutes in the bathtub until the markers on Enrique's skin bit by bit disappeared.
