Nikolaus - St. Nicholas Day

In Deutschland gibt es einen Vorboten vom Weihnachtsmann, der Nikolaus heisst. Er kommt in der Nacht vom 05. zum 06. Dezember und bringt den Kindern, die das Jahr ueber lieb waren, Suessigkeiten. Die anderen erhalten Kohle.

St. Nicholas is the forerunner of Santa Claus. After German tradition he will come overnight from the 5th to the 6th of December and he will bring chocolate to those children who behaved well during the year and coal to those who did not.

Enrique putzt zunaechst einmal seine Schuhe und ...

First of all Enrique cleans his shoes and ...

... plaziert sie anschliessend vor der Tuer, in der Hoffnung am naechsten Morgen darin etwas Schoenes vorzufinden.

... puts them in front of the door hoping that they will be filled with something nice by the next morning.

Danach geht er ins Bett.

Afterwards he goes to bed.

Und weil Enrique die meiste Zeit des Jahres 2008 seine guten Seiten zeigte, findet er am 06.12. tatsaechlich Nikolausgeschenke in seinen Schuhen.

And due to the fact that Enrique showed his good side most of the time in 2008, he finds presents from St. Nicholas in his shoes the next day.
