Die ersten Wochen in Deutschland - The first few weeks in Germany

 In Deutschland angekommen, warteten viele Menschen auf uns, denn sie freuten sich, uns nun regelmaessiger sehen zu koennen. Enrique und sein Cousin Paul waren sofort ein Herz und eine Seele.
 

Once we arrived in Germany, many people who were enjoying the fact that we would now live closer to them, were expecting to see us. Enrique and his cousin Paul became right away best buddies.

Zunaechst lebten Enrique und seine Mutti bei den Grosseltern bzw. Eltern. Die "kostenlose" Unterkunft und das Gratisessen ...

For the first few weeks, Enrique and his Mom were living with their grandparents/parents. They had to work hard for the free accomodation including free meals.

Wenn das Wetter mitspielte, ging es in die Freibaeder, denn den taeglichen Poolbesuch von Costa Rica vermisste Enrique am meisten.

When the weather was warm enough to go for a swim, Enrique loved to spend time in different public pools, cause the thing that he missed the most about Costa Rica were the pool dates including swimming and diving.

Da wurde zum Erstaunen der anderen Besucher auch schon mal das Sprungbrett benutzt.

On one hand, he often complained about the non-exisiting waves, on the other hand, he fully explored every spring board to the astonishment of other visitors.



Eine Sache, die in Costa Rica eher Seltenheitswert besass und bei der Enrique hier richtig auf seine Kosten kam, war die Benutzung des Spielplatzes.

One thing that rarely existed in Costa Rica were playgrounds. In Germany, on a daily basis, Enrique took advantage of these amazing entertainment options.













Ausserdem wurden alle vorhandenen sportlichen Moeglichkeiten voll ausgeschoepft.

On top of this, he tried out all sport activities that Frauenstein had to offer.

Allerdings waren die ersten 2 Monate nicht nur mit positiven Erlebnissen bestueckt, denn es gab auch Momente, die man gern rueckgaengig gemacht haette:

 

But besides all the fun and adventures that Enrique experienced within the first 2 months, there were also moments that we would have liked to reverse.

 

 

1. Da Enrique erst das Fahrradfahren erlernen musste, nahm seine Mutti ihn hin und wieder auf dem Gepaecktraeger mit. Nachdem das mehrmals gutgegangen war, verfing sich eines Tages die Ferse in den Speichen und das Ausheilen der Quetschung dauerte Wochen.

1. Sometimes, Enrique's Mom took him on her bike carrier from A to B, as Enrique still had to learn how to ride a bike himself. After a few rides without complications, it happened one day that his heel got stuck between the spokes. His foot got twisted so badly that it took months for the injury to completely heal. 

 

 

2.Wie oft sagt man den Kindern nicht mit Essen herumzulaufen?Eines Tages stuerzte Enrique mit seiner Muesli- & Milchgefuellten Schuessel. Dabei zersprang jene und ungluecklicherweise landete er mit dem Gesicht genau auf der abgebrochenen Kante. Dabei zog er sich eine Schnittwunde zu, die sehr stark blutete.

2. How often do parents have to tell their kids to sit down while eating? One day, Enrique fell with a bowl of cornflakes and milk. The bowl broke into a few pieces and his face ended up knocking against a very sharp edge that left him with a heavily bleeding wound.
