Freizeitbeschaeftigungen - Recreational Activities

Zum Erstaunen von Enrique's Mama hat sich das Angebot an Freizeitbeschaeftigungen in Costa Rica in den letzten Monaten sehr gesteigert:

To the surprise of Enrique's Mom, the amount of recreational activities in Costa Rica has increased significantly in the past few months:

1. KOCHSCHULE - COOKING CLASS

Das im Alter von 3.5 Jahren kein Kuchenchef vom Himmel faellt, ist klar, doch das war auch nicht der Grund, Enrique zum Kochunterricht anzumelden. Im Vordergrund stand ein Verstaendnis fuer Gerueche zu entwickeln, verschiedene Konsistenzen und Geschmacksrichtungen kennenzulernen - kurz gesagt, die 5 Sinne zu nutzen.

Enrique, age 3.5 years, is not a cook yet and may never become one, but this was not the reason to sign him up for cooking classes. The main purpose was to develop an understanding for smells and to discover the different consitencies of food, as well as their flavors - simply said, to use the 5 senses in every possible way.

Das Thema dieses Kochzykluses hiess: Kulinarische Spezialitaeten aus aller Welt! Zu Beginn jeder Kochstunde wurde ein kurzer Film zum Herkunftsland der jeweiligen Speise gezeigt.

The theme of this cooking cycle was: Specialities from all over the world! At the beginning of each cooking class, a short movie about the origin country of the food that was prepared that day was shown.

Dann ging es an die Zubereitung. Besonders beeindruckend war es zu sehen, wie exakt und gleichmaessig Enrique die Zutaten zerkleinerte.

Afterwards, the food preparation started. It was very impressive to see how accurate Enrique would cut the ingredients.

Ob Chalupas aus Mexiko, Pasta Caprese aus Italien, Crepes aus Frankreich oder Sushi aus Japan, am Ende der Kochstunde schmeckte alles.

At the end of each class, the kids were able to eat everything that they had cooked: Chalupas from Mexico, Pasta Caprese from Italy, Crepes from France or Sushi from Japan.

2. FUSSBALLSCHULE - SOCCER CLASS

Enrique kickt den Ball wie ein kleiner Profi, seitdem er "laufen" kann. Demzufolge ueberlegten wir nicht lang, als eine Anzeige hinsichtlich Fussballunterricht ins Haus flatterte.

Since Enrique's first steps, he has been kicking the ball like a little soccer player. Because of this, there was no doubt in our mind to send him to soccer classes, as soon as they offered them in our area.

Zu Beginn jeder Stunde muessen sich die Kinder mit Hilfe ihrer Eltern aufwaermen.

At the beginning of each session, the kids do a warm-up with the help of their parents.

Da Enrique's Gruppe aus 3 und 4 jaehrigen Kindern besteht, kommt es noch nicht zum eigentlichen Spiel, denn fuer diese Altersgruppe ist es wichtiger, den Umgang mit dem Ball zu erlernen.

Due to 3 and 4 year olds forming part of Enrique's group, they do not play a real game yet, as it is more important for them to pratice the handling of the ball.
