Everybody was looking forward to the 10th of October. Finally the day has arrived - the european journey starts. First Enrique, Juan and Denise fly with Iberia to Madrid. On board Enrique has his own seat, where he can play and sleep.
In Madrid erwarten uns Sonnenschein und Temperaturen von ca. 20 Grad.
Madrid welcomes us with sunshine and temperatures around 20 degrees.
Enrique erkundet auf den Schultern seines Papas die Stadt, bevor jener 1 Woche spaeter nach New York zurueckkehren muss.
Enrique discovers the city, while sitting on daddy's shoulders. Juan has to return to New York 1 week later.
Gemeinsam mit Mama bleibt Enrique noch 2 Tage, bis zum 19. Oktober, bevor beide die Weiterreise nach Deutschland antreten.
Together with Mum, Enrique stays another 2 days (until the 19th of October) in Madrid, before they both fly to Germany.

... verlegen aus diesem Grund sogar den Mittagsschlaf nach draussen.

Am 20. Oktober fliegen Enrique und Denise nach Berlin. Von dort aus reisen sie nach Frauenstein, in Sachsen.
On the 20th of October, Enrique and Denise fly to Berlin. From there, they continue their journey to Frauenstein, in Saxony.
Dort erwarten sie ganz andere Wetterverhaeltnisse. Es regnet, es hagelt und wenige Tage spaeter schneit es.
Over there, the weather conditions are completely different. It rains, hails, and even snows a few days later.
Ausserdem ist es sehr kalt (ca. 5 Grad und weniger). Ploetzlich heisst es nicht mehr, wo sind die T-shirts, sondern mehrere Lagen von Sachen sind angesagt und dies gefaellt Enrique zu Beginn ueberhaupt nicht. Trotz dessen geht es jeden Tag an die frische Luft spazieren, denn:
"Schlechtes Wetter gibt es nicht, es gibt nur schlecht gekleidete Leute."
It is also very cold (approx. 5 degrees and lower). Therefore, T-shirts are out and many layers of clothes are in. At the beginning Enrique does not like this at all. Eventhough the weather is not the best, we go for a walk every day, because:
"Bad weather does not exist, only incorrectly dressed people."
3 Wochen und 5 Tage geniessen wir es, verwoehnt zu werden. Wir besuchen die Baeckerei von Enrique's Grosseltern und auch Enrique darf die eine oder andere Leckerei kosten.
We enjoy being spoiled 3 weeks and 5 days. We visit the bakery of Enrique's grandparents and Enrique tries out some delicious cakes.
Daheim werden alte Erinnerungen aufgewaermt, als die 17jaehrige Laufhilfe, sowie ...

... Spielzeuge von Onkel Ronny (Denise's Bruder) aus dieser Zeit hervorgeholt werden.

Am Abend heisst es dann wieder: Sport. In Deutschland arbeiten Enrique und Denise vor allem am Synchronturnen.
In the evenings, sport is scheduled. In Germany, Enrique and Denise are especially working on synchrone gymnastics.
Am 09.11., nach 3 langen Wochen ohne seinen Sohn, trifft auch Juan in Frauenstein ein.
On the 9th of November, after 3 weeks without Enrique, Juan joins the family in Frauenstein.
Mit Wehmut heisst es dann am 14. November Abschied nehmen. Es geht nochmal fuer 1 Woche nach Madrid, bevor Familie Fernandez am 24. November nach New York zurueckkehrt.
